Long time, no see! So shortly after announcing my new job, I did something stupid (for anyone who knows me this should not be at all surprising). I was hitting some wiffle balls in a pair of flip flops. When I stepped forward to hit the ball, I lost my footing and successfully rolled my ankle. The end results: an ankle sprain (granted I came to that conclusion myself). As if I have not had enough foot/ankle problems in the past three years. This will definitely be putting a damper on my running plans. However, its much better to just let it heal than to keep going on it.
On the plus side, my new job is awesome. I will be working from home for the remainder of the week creating a series of blog posts for various wellness companies, which I am very excited about.
Aside from the ankle issue (which I am still debating whether or not it is necessary to see a doctor about. The swelling is gone, but I am enjoying the constant burning pain and instability. I’ve never sprained anything before, so I am all ears on any suggestions as to how to fix this, I know some of you have advice for me!!), this week is looking good for it only being Tuesday afternoon.
So far:
- Started a new job.
- Got my food pen pals package in the mail, which I will be posting more about at the end of next week. I’ve got lots of awesome goodies to try.
- Free Rita’s Italian Ice today.
- The weather is amazing (I actually wore shorts to work today. It seems more like the first day of summer rather than the first day of spring. I will most definitely be working outside tomorrow and hopefully the remainder of the week.
What are you most looking forward to this week?

Just because the swelling is gone does not mean it can’t be something deeper..especially since you still feel pain. Have you taken any Ibuprofen?
So happy you are loving the job..that’s SO important!
Yes, I have it doesn’t seem to do much.
Elevate, ice, and see the doctor if it doesn’t feel better soon! I sprained my ankle when I was 5 but never saw a doctor for it. I think I needed a brace because when it healed, it healed all funny and now I have a permanent bump on my ankle. Hope it gets better soon!!
The weather this late winter/early spring is fantastic, minus yesterday and today for me. I hope your ankle gets better. There’s nothing worse than nagging pain.
Oh nooo I am sorry this happened! Feel better asap of course!
I’m looking forward to spending the next two days sore from my first two softball games of the year. Seriously…softball. I never knew I was so out-of-shape.
Yikes–hope your ankle heals quickly!!
