No shoes, no shirt, no service. Sounds simple, right? While there are no rules as to what you can and cannot wear to a yoga class at your local gym or yoga studio, there are some guidelines you should consider following. For your comfort, modesty and to get the most out of your workout, try these tips out for size.

Pants. Avoid short, tight shorts. Even if they look great on you, they may not be the option for a yoga class. Short shorts cannot only bunch up as you move from pose to pose, but they may leave you exposing more than you wish to other members of your class. Instead of tight, short-shorts, opt for well-fitted legging for fitted capri or cropped pants. You are also going to want to avoid the old, loose-fitting clothing that may be unbelievably comfortable. While it may be comfortable, it is hard to move in loose fitting clothing. Additionally, yoga poses may reveal holes in your clothing that you may not have previously noticed.

Shirts. This one is simple and to the point, make sure your shirt fits! Avoid t-shirt and loose fitting tank tops along with short or cropped-tops. Loose fitting clothing may end up falling over your head during many yoga poses. If you are not comfortable with baring your belly, avoid the cropped-tops as well. For comfort and convenience, opt for long and fitted tank tops.  Also opt for conservative tops. Avoid revealing too much, this may lead to wardrobe malfunctions.

Underwear. You probably don’t think the type of underwear you wear during a yoga class is important. Guess again. Try not to wear cotton underwear. Cotton is not a very breathable fabric and doesn’t dry quickly should you sweat. Instead of cotton, opt for moisture-wicking briefs. These may be a little on the pricey side, but may be worth the splurge if you are a heavy sweater. If you are looking for something a little more comfortable and reasonably priced, try yoga briefs or boy shorts from Victoria Secret. Not only are they breathable, but they won’t bunch up as you move.

Hey! It’s Allie from Allie’s Life here. I hope Michelle is having fun traveling!

Today I want to share two of my favorite dessert recipes- puppy chow and fluffy peanut butter cookies.

Puppy Chow

Ingredients:

9 cups Chex rice cereal

1 cup chocolate chips

1/2 cup creamy peanut butter

1/4 cup butter

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Directions:

Measure cereal and put into a large bowl. Melt chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter in a sauce pan over low heat. Stir in vanilla.

Pour the chocolate sauce mixture over the cereal and stir until evenly coated.

Put the mix into a large plastic bag with the powdered sugar and shake until fully coated.

Fluffy Peanut Butter Cookies

Ingredients

1/2 Cup Granulated Sugar

1/2 Cup Brown Sugar

1/2 Cup Peanut Butter

1/4 Cup Butter (Softened)

1 Egg

2 Tablespoons Honey

1 1/4 Cups All Purpose Flour

3/4 Teaspoon Baking Soda

1/2 Teaspoon Baking Powder

1/4 Teaspoon Salt

Additional Granulated Sugar

Heat oven to 375 degrees. In a large bowl, beat 1/2 cup granulated sugar, the brown sugar, peanut butter, and butter with an electric mixer on low speed until well mixed. Beat in the honey and egg until well blended. Beat in the remaining ingredients until dough forms.

Shape dough into 1 1/4 inch balls. Place balls about 3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten in crisscross pattern with a fork dipped in additional granulated sugar. Bake 7-9 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool one minute; remove from cookie sheets to cooling rack. Cool completely, about 15 minutes.

Enjoy!
