Balancing work (when you have to actually get out of your pajamas and leave the house to work) can be a little tricky. I’m not used to getting up, wearing clothes (other than workout clothes and sweats), leaving the house, sitting in traffic and being in an office for 8hours. It’s been a long two years since I’ve worked in an office setting!

Since I still like my sleep, breakfast is often eaten in my car or at my desk. I found this interesting little guy at Whole Foods yesterday. A chocolate chip Belgium waffle in a bag! It’s high protein and is indicated as a meal replacement. I had that along side some strawberry Gotein this morning. Plenty of protein to get me through to lunch without heading to the vending machine!

Check out this interesting watch! I haven’t worn a watch in years but when I saw this La Mer Collections watch on Rue La La, I decided to give watch-wearing a try again!

Are you a watch-wearer or do you use your phone to tell time?

What’s your favorite quick and easy breakfast?

How amazing does this cookies ‘n cream cupcake look? It was amazing and very sweet. In fact, there was so much icing on it that it had to be eaten with a fork…it was a little on the top-heavy side.

This lovely, tasty treat called for a good workout. Which is why I was extremely happy to see this circuit (the Quick n Dirty Circuit) workout from Lena at Fit on the Rocks.

Now it is time for some work and later, a little shopping. I absolutely love shopping around the time of my birthday. The $10 Victoria Secret birthday card and the $15 LOFT certificate mailed to me for having credit cards at each store are absolutely burning a hole in my pocket. What better way to solve this problem than to spend them, right?

Question for you:

Any recommendations on a reasonably priced hotel in Washington DC with a good location?

Enjoy your Thursday!

Again, I swear the more blogs I read, the more food and snack addictions I develop. Maybe, I should stop reading blogs for awhile!

Snapea

These guys are highly addicting!

Might just be my new favorite peanut butter cup!

Anyways, I also think I have a serious Groupon addiction. My latest purchase is a package for a hot yoga studio within walking distance of my house, which sure beats the drive and paying to park (not too mention added exercise) at the current studio I have been going to. I feel like a yoga studio hopper, going where all the best deals are! I’m just exploring my options ;-)

What are your latest addictions?

It’s Sunday and I am desperately hoping for a Pittsburgh Penguins win in Philadelphia today! I’m not sure what those guys have been up to during the last two games, but they need to play the full 60 minutes today! I went to the first game and it was only enjoyable for the first 20 minutes! Going down 3-0 in Philly is really, really bad. So, Let’s Go Pens!!!

The other day, I was pleasantly surprised to receive a whole lot of nut butters in the mail courtesy of Artisana Organic Foods. Since I know I am not the first and probably won’t be the last blogger to receive this package I am going to keep my thoughts short and sweet. I received two full-sized jars and eight individual packets of nut butters with flavors including coconut, pecan walnut, cashew and more. Overall, I would definitely purchase this product. I enjoyed every flavor (don’t worry I haven’t eat it all yet). The Artisana products have turned into my new breakfast food. I put them on toast, bagels and waffles. I’d highly recommend them!

And it’s Monday (and April!).  Mondays are always filled with long to-do lists that make it seem like the work is never going to end. While I try not to wish away five days in a row, I’m really looking forward to the end of the week. As a result, I’m working like a mad-woman for the beginning of the week. I’m am completely stoked for the beginning of baseball season at the end of this week!

Work hard & LIVE YOUR Life

Last week I opened a box of waffles for breakfast only to realize that I didn’t have any  maple syrup, so I leaned towards the peanut butter and made sandwiches with my waffles and peanut butter. Since the middle of last week, I’ve devoured a box of waffles on my own. Tomorrow, I’ll be opening the blueberry waffles. It’s amazing how the simplest things can make a person so happy. Granola or jelly also make great additions to these sandwiches!

How cute are these shoes at just $12.74 from Target?

I couldn’t help myself. They seem extremely comfy so I bought both!

Am I the only person who keeps forgetting that it is April Fool’s Day? Anyways, there are no jokes in my post today..I promise. I’ve fallen for so many jokes today so I’m keeping it clean!

Chicago is officially booked! I’m extremely excited and our hotel (the Fairmont) looks amazing and conveniently located near virtually everything! I’m still taking suggestions for things to do if you all have any!

While I am not particularly stoked that it is almost Sunday evening, this week is looking to be fairly exciting (minus the whole work thing):

  • Cheesecake Factory for dinner tonight!
  • Opening day for the Pirates.
  • Pirates and Phillies all weekend.

I’m pretty excited, I just hope the weather is nice.

Blogging and Food Obsessions:

Keeping theme with my last post about foodie penpals, is it just me or has blogging opened your eyes to a wide-variety of foods and snacks that I otherwise may have never known about. What are your thoughts on this? I feel like the more blogs I read, the longer my grocery store list gets!

My current obsessions include:

Peanut Butter and Company Dark Chocolate Dreams

Trader Joe’s Green Tea Mints

Trader Joe’s Blue Berry Cereal Bars.

I’ve never been much of a smoothie maker. In fact, I really cannot remember the fast time I made a smoothie. Actually, I kind of blog-lied. I worked at a Baskin-Robbins during high school and made plenty of smoothies, but never ate them! Strawberry, strawberry banana, peach and wild berry smoothies were pretty much a fact of my life throughout high school.

Last night I was browsing Pinterest and came across a smoothie recipe of a peanut butter vanilla smoothie. I was intrigued but missing some of the ingredients and not liking bananas much, I decided to modify the recipe. After a morning full of meetings and a filling Mexican lunch, I was looking for something sweet this afternoon.

Ingredients:

  • 4 Ice Cubes
  • 1 Teaspoon of Chocolate Syrup
  • 1 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
  • 1.5 Teaspoon of Peanut Butter (I used PB&Co White Chocolate Wonderful, I love this stuff!)
  • 1 Cup of Vanilla Yogurt
  • 1/3 cup of milk

It was yummy!

Questions for you:

What was your first job?

What is your favorite flavored smoothie?

This week has been my first week at my new job. Despite the fact that I’ve worked from home for half of the week, I’ll have to admit working a full 40 hour work week again is rather weird. The last time I’ve done it was July of 2010. I’ve been crazy-busy; especially since I am continuing to do some freelance work on the side. Needless to say, I am very, very excited that tomorrow is Friday!

With an ankle that is beginning to feel much better, I am thinking out my weekend plans as I search for something to eat for lunch — so far I haven’t been too successful in finding something that is catching my eye.

I’ve been living off of this, this week. I’m addicted!

I really need to hit up a grocery store and find some other tasty lunch foods!!

This weekend, a friend of mine and I are planning what we call our old lady shopping day. We go grocery shopping, eat dinner extremely early and get frozen yogurt. (sounds like an old lady day, doesn’t it?) Oh well, you’d think I was going on 80 instead of 27!!

This time we are heading to Trader Joe’s! I love this store, but seriously never know what to buy. That’s why I am turning to the blog.

What are your favorite Trader Joe’s products?
