REMINDER: ZICO giveaway ends tomorrow morning!

It’s no secret that I like to shop! I have account RueLaLa, Hautelook and various other websites like them, but I’ve really never bothered to actually log-into these accounts and see what is out there! Well, I logged-in to RueLaLa yesterday and let’s just say I’m hooked. I actually purchased my sister a Christmas present yesterday (I am definitely turning into my mom shopping so early). $595 item for $49.90, can’t beat that. Plus, they are having a LongChamp sale this weekend –I’ve actually set an alarm for the time the sale starts. The other thing I like about RueLaLa is that you only pay shipping once and then it is free for the next 30 days! (Perfect excuse to do a lot of shopping, right?)

You know what else I am unfortunately loving, Bengay Zero Degrees. I’ve read about this product on a few blogs and was wondering if it would work to relieve a little foot and hamstring pain that I experience from time to time. I love the fact that this product can be stored in the freezer, it’s like applying ice to the sore area! I also love the fact that it doesn’t smell like Bengay or any other pain relieving cream.

What are some things you are currently loving?

How amazing does this cookies ‘n cream cupcake look? It was amazing and very sweet. In fact, there was so much icing on it that it had to be eaten with a fork…it was a little on the top-heavy side.

This lovely, tasty treat called for a good workout. Which is why I was extremely happy to see this circuit (the Quick n Dirty Circuit) workout from Lena at Fit on the Rocks.

Now it is time for some work and later, a little shopping. I absolutely love shopping around the time of my birthday. The $10 Victoria Secret birthday card and the $15 LOFT certificate mailed to me for having credit cards at each store are absolutely burning a hole in my pocket. What better way to solve this problem than to spend them, right?

Question for you:

Any recommendations on a reasonably priced hotel in Washington DC with a good location?

Enjoy your Thursday!

Top 5 Ways to Get Over Writer's Block by Peri Kinder.

I went away Sunday and Monday on a fabulous little ski trip and ever since then I’ve been struggling to get back into work-mode. It’s Wednesday and my list of freelance work is continuing to mount. This is not good! I seem to wonder from what I am writing very, very easily. I write a sentence, then I’ll go do something else for awhile, come back write another sentence, etc… It’s going to be a very long rest of the week!

I cannot even think of anything exciting to put in this post! Major struggle.

I took a brief break from working attempting to work today and did a little shopping. LOFT is having a great sale! Pants – 14.88, Button down shirt -9.88, Scarf- 4.88, Grey cardigan – 9.99 I’d call that a successful shopping trip!

The one complaint I have about clothes in general is jeans. I’m 5’7″ and feel like jeans are made for people over six foot tall. I like wearing flats and comfy shoes. I’ve bought jeans in the past with the intent of altering them. I still have a pair of jeans sitting around from two years ago that I haven’t gotten altered!

PS- I am looking for fitness and nutrition professionals for a series of healthy living articles. If you are a fitness or nutrition professional, who has an interest in being interviewed for a Pittsburgh website (non-Pittsburghers welcome), let me know!

I worked yesterday and early this morning, so I could have a little fun this afternoon and that I did! (By the way, if you follow my regularly, pictures of my successful Ugly Sweater Christmas Party will be up tomorrow, I used my actual camera and I seemed to have misplaced it’s USB cord.)

Today’s adventures led to the Strip District. With lots of random little stores, filled with plenty of Steeler and Penguin gear along with unique grocery stores — like Mexican and Chinese grocery stores. The strip district also hosts many small diners, which I’ve actually never been in despite the fact that I have been living in Pittsburgh my entire life,  all 26.5 years of it! Sometimes exploring your own city can be just as exciting as traveling somewhere new. Although, I’d still love to get back to Chicago or NYC soon.  We had breakfast at a small diner, an upcoming movie was actually filmed here. I had Caramel Apple Crepes. It was amazing, sweet and packed-full of more calories than anyone should probably ever eat at one sitting.

Then it was time for some calorie-burning ice skating!! Two hours on ice skates, just 8weeks after surgery (surprisingly it really wasn’t painful at all, although I’m icing as a precaution right now. I may be sore in the morning.)  According to Glamour’s Calorie Calculator, I burned 800.14 calories in two hours of  moderately intense ice skating. I’ll take it!
